Water Heater Flush
You should flush your hot water tank once by year. If your local water is harder or contains more minerals, you may need to do so on a more frequent basis. At a minimum, drain 1 to 2 gallons of water from the drain valve monthly.
Anod Inspection
The anode rod must be inspected periodically once at every 2 years and replaced after 5 years. Replacing the anod rod you can extend the life of your water heater. The rod may be under the water heater’s sheet metal top middle or connected to the hot water outlet nipple.
Pilot/Burner
The maintenance of burner should be done by a certified technician. Inspected and cleaned every 2 years will help your water heater to operate properly.
